Is PreVeil FedRAMP Moderate Equivalent?
Yes, PreVeil is FedRAMP Moderate Equivalent. In order to reach this status PreVeil had to meet the following criteria:
- 100% compliance with the FedRAMP Moderate baseline with no POA&Ms
- Independent assessment by an accredited FedRAMP 3PAO (no self-attestation)
- Submission of a Body of Evidence (SSP, SAP/SAR, continuous monitoring evidence) to DIBCAC for review
What kind of encryption does PreVeil use?
AES-256 in GCM mode (FIPS 140-2 validated)
Are endpoints in scope with PreVeil?
Yes. Many contractors already have all the tools you’ll need to protect endpoints, and our Compliance Accelerator gives step-by-step directions to configure them. For ex, our fictional Acme Corp uses Microsoft Intune, Entra ID, Defender, Bitlocker, and Authenticator—all included in Microsoft’s commercial 365 Business Premium package.
Do you need a second email address when using PreVeil?
No, you keep your existing email address.
Does PreVeil provide documentation?
PreVeil Compliance Accelerator is our assessment-ready documentation and guidance package that dramatically simplifies achieving NIST SP 800-171/CMMC Level 2 compliance.
Can a client be CMMC compliant using PreVeil and Google Workspace?
Yes. Google Workspace is not CMMC compliant out of the box, but defense contractors can continue using Google Workspace—securely and in full CMMC Level 2 compliance—by layering in PreVeil’s end-to-end encrypted Email and Drive solutions. You can read more about this here.
As a MSP/MSSP do I need to be CMMC Compliant?
The true answer is maybe and depends on if you are storing, processing, or transmitting CUI on your own systems—not just administering someone else’s systems. You can read more about it in our blog here.
